Borough Street Market…love it!
It’s no secret that I love going to markets and before arriving in London, the markets that I have become accustomed to are predominantly Asian markets full of buzz, favour and atmosphere. Before going to the Borough market, I made the assumption that a market somewhere like London would be much like a market back home; dull, boring and uneventful.
Untrue. Borough Market is very cool. A lot more upmarket than I am used to but very, very cool all the same. A scattered collection of three sections all with different names, the Borough market houses fresh produce, delicious food and mouth watering treats! I couldn’t believe my eyes at all the delicious things on offer!
It was so nice to walk around this market, sampling the produce and drinking hot chocolates and we couldn’t help ourselves but to get some early morning lunch. Daniel sampled a, what he described to be, a delicious roast pork belly roll with crackling and apple sauce which he can’t wait to tell his dad about since he will be green with envy and I tried a very delicious, huge beef, cheese and pumpkin pie!
All in all, it was a very fun morning and we were so grateful it was underground/cover because it was quite a rainy morning!
