Hostel Review – Old Town Hostel in Kotor
Right in the heart of Old Town, the Old Town Hostel is definitely in the right location.
The people that run the hostel are extremely friendly and always willing to help. Any question we had was never too much trouble and the main guy always got so excited when people wanted to travel and see his country. Everything we wanted to do, they gave us information on it and helped us organise our hire car and leant us his maps so we wouldn’t get lost.
The hostel itself is set in a really old building which has been redecorated to suit a hostel but still keeps all its architecture and originality so the atmosphere is amazing.

The kitchen is tiny and a little ill-equipped so if you are hoping to be a masterchef, don’t plan on it here. Keep your menu simple while you are here.
The rooms are spacious, the lockers and locks are good and the wifi is quite good. They allow you to use wifi in the room which isn’t always the best but downstairs the wifi is good.
At night, the guys are always willing to share a drink and will often give out free shots of rakija. On a couple of the nights Alex, the guy who runs it, even held a BBQ down at the dock and invited all the guests down.
If you hate noise you might dislike this hostel a little but I always say that these sorts of thing come with the territory of hostels and you need to learn how to sleep like a hostel sleeper.
One thing you should be aware of staying in the Old Town in general is the bell tower is LOUD and it will ring every hour of the night. That can be a little disturbing but also very very cool, just pretend you are some old fashioned villager who lives by the sound of the clock or something!
