Hostel Review – Villa Marija Hostel in Hvar Town
The Villa Marija Hostel was recommended to us by someone in Zagreb and after reading glowing reviews of it on hostelbookers and the like, we gladly booked it. When we arrived to Villa Marija Hostel the reviews definitely lived up to the truth. After being picked up personally by Marija from the harbor, we were shown to our dorm room. A spacious 8 bed dorm, with a balcony out the front, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen area and a dining table were what we were presented with.
Not only this but upstairs there were sun lounges, bean bags and free wifi. At night, Marija would give out free drinks and her staff (son Ivan and a very friendly girl) would take out the guests at 11pm to the local hotspot Nautical where you would receive a free shooter on arrival.
You can’t fault the hostel itself, it is a wonderful place and it is always kept clean and tidy. The staff are checking the rooms every few hours to make sure everything is kept clean and that the toilets are stocked with toilet paper and soap. The hot water was perfect, the kitchen facilities great, the beds comfortable and the atmosphere was great.
