Hanoi – Day Three

We woke up to the sounds of motorbikes, cars and speakers all blaring outside our hotel. We got up quickly and went on a search for the supposed near by cooking school. After a short search in the heat it was our time to bail on the idea and find food instead. We made our way to the centrally located lake where we strolled around deciding where to eat. After eating, we stumbled upon a lakside cafe where we decided to have a fresh beer and and enjoy the scenery.

After the food and beer we walked around the lake to the island which had a well known temple in the middle of Hoan Kiem lake. The line was really long and we decided that standing in the heat to see another temple was not what we needed at the time, so we went back home and napped it up!

After we awoke we went back to the lake for dinner and to search the night market from another angle. While enjoying multiple cocktails at Snack Bar again we met a Vietnamese girl named Alvie, she was born there although grew up in Russia and then studied in China, she was intensely outgoing although we really enjoyed her attitude after we had some bad experiences already with the people of Vietnam.

Due to a downpour of rain, we decided to skip the market and after dinner at a Lonely Planet recommended restaurant we went to a bar and decided to share a bucket while playing beer pong!
